Ice Cream

Pretty much a year ago, MYT and I attempted to make ice cream and it was the most fail thing ANYONE could do. We finished it all because we didn't want our failure to known to the world. Anyway, this time I would consider it a success, taking into account that we couldn't freeze it for long enough. While our mixture was cooling, we did end up finding something else to do. It was great fun forcing MYT to play guitar :P

Ingredients included:

1 cup (250ml) milk

1 cup (250ml) thickened cream

4 egg yolks

1/2 cup (110g) caster sugar

500g strawberries

1/4 cup (55g) caster sugar

After making the ice cream AND eating it, we came to conclusion that...

a) It tasted like strawberry yogurt

b) It would be cheaper if we just bought strawberry ice cream

c) It was one of the best home made ice creams ever eaten ;)

I really don't know where I have been :S

From what I remember, I have had tonsillitis for a week. Drugs did away with it! So I'm better now :) From experience, not many people care HAHA! Why the hell has it been so hot in Perth anyway? It seems so ridiculous. 42 degrees today? That's quite extreme don't you think?

Anyway, a spontaneous decision was made last week. This is how the conversation was laid out.

Me: Would you let me go to Europe?

This previous decade has been blessed with many highs and many lows (yes I will still lows are blessed because without them we cannot appreciate the highs)

Shopping; Man's Worst Invention

I don't know about you but I think that shopping is the worst thing ever invented by man. It involves walking and being bombarded with a lot of irrelevant information. Totally unnecessary. Just today, I decided to FINALLY search for some shoes as my previous shoes were pretty much demolished. I had in my mind that this will take maximum of 15 minutes. I pretty much was looking for parking for a bout 40 minutes. Fair enough, it's post Christmas sales, so I'll let that pass. Interesting to see the catfights performed by cars in the parking lot :P

So anyway, 40 minutes of my life, wasted. Went looking for the shoe shops. What did I find? Nothing. Nothing that interested me or looked cool enough for me to buy and if they were cool enough for me to buy, it was for a ridiculous price. I was just looking for shoes like my previous shoes, but no, they didn't have any. I ended up walking around the whole of Garden City looking for shoes. I tried, Betts first, Myer, Zu, Colorado? (I think that's what it's called) and David Jones. All had nothing. I just ended up running back to Betts and buying something that looked comfortable. Mind you, each step I took pretty much ripped my previous shoes a bit more. Anyway, the only shoes that seemed decent were these.

The Holocaust

I have been quite depressed for the past two days.

Why you may ask, or not LOL.

For some reason, I had an urge to learn more about this thing people call the 'Holocaust' and what was the big fuss over it. My gosh, what a big fuss it is! Just reading about it makes me question people's mentality. Human Experiments? Death Camps? These things I used to believe to only exist in fiction books/shows. So I knew that World War 2 was bad but to what extent I was quite unsure.

Obviously this curiosity got the better of me and I went out to borrow an award winning film called Schindler's List. I had just watched bits of pieces of this movie but never straight through. After borrowing the DVD, I still have it on my to-do-list. LOL Apparently, it has TWO DVDs not just ONE. Due to my laziness I can't be bothered going back to video ezy to complain. Anyway, the first half of the movie is GREAT! I would definitely recommend it for anyone :) Just watch out for a few scenes. They actually have pretty dam graphic killings! So anyone up for it?

Welcome Back

Well, after 5 days and a bit, I am back on my blog to share my experiences I brought back from EtG 'o9 :)

I must say, the 5 days I was gone away was DEFINITELY intense! I'm so glad I managed to write a few things down to re-jolt my memory :) One thing I will take away from this experience is the long chat I had with a LOVELY lady called Sr Bernadette. She was amazing in a sense that she is so peaceful and loving. Well anyway, that talk with her will stay with me for a while because she was able to tell me the type of person I was by just talking to her.

Another interesting part of the retreat was the trip there and back, mainly the trip back. Being challenged by a friend, you are required to be patient and loving. Quite hard in a sense that you know there are answers BUT you don't have answers yourself. When you give a valid point they don't listen. I don't deny what they are saying, but I see it in a different way. Definitely interesting though :)

One more thing that strikes me as totally AMAZING are definitely the stars at night. I have NEVER EVER EVER seen so many stars in the sky! If you have lived in Perth your WHOLE life or you have always lived in a metropolitan area, I suggest to you to drive at least 3 hours in ANY direction and then look at the sky at night (hopefully there will be no moon) but it's truly lovely! In the period of 30mins, my friend and I managed to see 7 shooting stars, while serenading to each other. Great times when you refuse to go to bed but instead you want to lie on the basketball courts, looking at the stars and singing songs. Greater times when you refuse to go to sleep by serenading 'More Than Words' to the person trying to make you go to sleep :)
